TESTING OIL BLENDS
Example: If you're making a blend with two parts lemongrass & one part cedarwood. Dip 1/2 of two toothpicks into the lemongrass and 1/2 of another one in the cedarwood then hold them all together to smell. You can also keep them together for a few days to see if one scent overpowers any others.
4 oz. of base oil- almond, grapeseed, apricot
1/2 oz. grated beeswax
1/2 oz. or 1 T. of essential or fragrance oil
Melt the base oil and beeswax over very low heat. When they are melted and mixed together remove from heat. Let it cool for a couple of minutes then add the fragrance or essential oil.
Pour into little decorative pots, tins or jars.
50 to 60 drops fragrance oil
2 t. of Jojoba oil
1 rounded teaspoonful of Beeswax Pearls
Blend the fragrance oil with the Jojoba oil, one drop at a time stirring while blending. Melt the beeswax pearls in a small heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water. Remove from the heat and stir in the fragrance oil.
Pour into a small sterilized perfume or lip balm container.
Perfumes are concentrated fragrances. Their scent will last a long time.
Simply add 1 teaspoon of fragrance oil (any fragrance) to 1/4 cup 100-proof vodka. Shake well.
Cologne is lighter than perfume, and will give you a lighter fragrance.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon fragrance oil with 1/4 cup 100-proof vodka. Shake well.
After-bath splashes are great to use when you get out of the tub or shower, or any time you desire a light, wispy fragrance.
1/2 cup 100-proof vodka
1/2 teaspoon fragrance oil
1 tablespoon glycerin
1 drop food coloring (optional)
Combine ingredients in a bottle and shake well.
5 drops essential oil of your choice
1 cup distilled water
1/8 cup vodka
Pour vodka in mixing jar, together with water and oil, swirling gently to mix ingredients. Screw on lid and let jar stand undisturbed in cool, dark place for one week.
Into clean, pretty bottle, pour fragrant water to within 1 inch of lip, then replace top.
To refresh water, add more drops of oil, as needed.
1 cup distilled water
1/2 cup vodka
2 t. glycerin
1 dropper full of scent
The scent and the glycerin have to be put into the vodka before the water is added and stirred up real nice. Then add the water. Add color if desired.
1/2 c. Aloe Vera Gel
1 T. water
2 t. 100 proof vodka
2 t. witchhazel
1/4 t. fragrance or essence oil of choice
Simply blend all together and put in a container of choice.
